$335M ‘rent-a-vet’ scheme will send third KC-area co-conspirator to prison


A Parkville man will spend the next eight years in federal prison no chance of parole after pleading guilty to filing false tax returns and defrauding federal programs that award contracts to firms owned by minorities, veterans and service-disabled veterans.

Patrick Dingle, 51, was operations manager for Zieson Construction Co. When the Riverside company formed in 2009, it listed the owner as Stephon Ziegler of Weatherby Lake, a Black service-disabled veteran.
