Johnson & Johnson shares plummeted after a Reuters report said the company knew for decades that its baby powder contained asbestos yet kept that information from regulators and the public.
Shares of Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) fell as much as 11 percent on Friday, heading towards its worst trading day since 2002, according to CNN. The stock, a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, was trading at $132.95 a share Friday afternoon in New York, down 10 percent from Thursday’s closing price.
