Shawnee says it’s joining the downtown revival trend


Overland Park has revamped its old downtown. Lenexa has built a new one with City Center. Now, Shawnee is making a move to redo its center.

Shawnee officials point to $40 million of work to renovate Nieman Road and new apartment and mixed-use developments as a sign that the city’s downtown is making a comeback, The Kansas City Star reports.
