After keeping a low profile, Tampa tech company steps into the spotlight with a $5M Series A close


A Tampa-based software as a service company focused on payroll has closed a $5 million Series A.

PeopleGuru, which launched in 2017, initially launched with $11 million, according to CEO and co-founder Richard Cangemi. Cangemi is a serial entrepreneur who sold his previous payroll company, Mangrove Software, in 2016 to Austin-based Asure Software.

His latest venture with PeopleGuru sets out to help mid-market companies attract, retain, compensate and engage their workforce through their software.…
