UT seeks construction firm to expand Longhorns football stadium


The University of Texas has issued a request for qualifications to construction companies that can renovate and expand Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

The stadium, home to the UT Longhorns football team and ranked as the eighth-largest stadium in the U.S. with a capacity of more than 100,000 fans, is in line for a $140 million boost. That's the preliminary cost estimate laid out in the RFQ.

The expansion will focus on the stadium's south end, the site of the $8 million “Godzillatron”…
