Reimagining Redbird to better engage and serve the community


Redbird opened in 1975 and is the only major mall located in the southern half of Dallas. It enjoyed a period of tremendous prosperity in the initial opening period, but as early as the mid-80s, it declined. The area was perceived as a hub for crime. By the turn of the 21st century, it was a bankrupt initiative.
