Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health said today they have closed the transaction for a business combination to create Advocate Health.
Advocate Health will serve as a corporate entity for Charlotte's Atrium Health as well as Advocate Aurora Health in Wisconsin and Illinois. The two regional health-care systems announced their planned joint operating agreement in May and had been awaiting regulatory approvals at the state and federal levels.
