Thomas Johnson, a former tax preparer, was sentenced to three years in federal prison for his role in the preparation of over 1,000 false and fraudulent income tax returns, according to the Department of Justice.
U.S. District Judge William F. Jung also ordered Johnson to pay the Internal Revenue Service restitution of over $1.68 million.
