Cargill Inc. has teamed up with Nestlé to fund a grant program for farmers to scale sustainable ranching practices aimed to restore wildlife habitats and fight climate change.
The two food-industry giants announced Wednesday that they will invest a total of $15 million to the effort, which is referred to as the BeefUp Sustainability program. Their commitment will be matched by $15 million in federal funds for a total of $30 million in grants over the next five years, the announcement said.
