Mercy Health, Anthem reach new deal following monthslong dispute, lawsuit


Mercy Health and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio have reached a multiyear agreement to continue coverage for tens of thousands of people in the region following a monthslong dispute, capped in August by the filing of $93 million lawsuit in Virginia.

The new deal, announced Friday, Sept. 29, will provide Anthem members, including those with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and more, with continued access to all Mercy Health hospitals, outpatient care centers and physician offices until 2028.
