Albany Medical Center received a necessary approval this week from the state to open a new surgery center in Niskayuna.
The hospital plans to open an outpatient surgery center focused on gastroenterology at 1769 Union St. in Niskayuna. Albany Med already operates an urgent care and specialty physician practices in the building.
