Assistance League of Charlotte moves into new lower South End home after big land deal (PHOTOS)

A big land deal and move in lower South End is setting up the Assistance League of Charlotte for its future.

The Charlotte nonprofit this summer moved out of its home of 10-plus years at 3405 S. Tryon St. into a new location about two-and-a-half miles farther south, at 5426 Old Pineville Road. That's as Florida-based Mill Creek Residential paid close to $14 million to buy its 3.3-acre parcel on South Tryon Street in late July, where it's developing a 351-unit apartment project called Modera LoSo.
