Wichita health club chain snatches up more area gyms, provides update on former Midtown Athletic Club
Genesis Health Clubs' biggest market just got bigger.
The Wichita-based health club chain acquired the area's last two World Gym locations in Merriam and Gladstone, bringing its total Kansas City metro count to 14 clubs. In comparison, the company operates four clubs in Wichita, but recently announced plans for a fifth location, which will feature a 60,000-square-foot aquatic center and ball fields. Companywide, Genesis operates 47 clubs in the Midwest.

Jerky maker Krave to move HQ to Austin as Hershey brings together some of its upstart brands
It appears that another consumer goods company is setting up headquarters in Austin.
Krave, a maker of jerky and other meat snacks, is relocating to the Texas capital at the instruction of its parent company, The Hershey Co., the Sonoma Index-Tribune reports.

A new American restaurant has opened in metro Birmingham.
Marty's PM in Five Points opened its second location, Marty's GM, in Irondale.
The restaurant is well known for its brunch offerings, as well as burgers, wings and drinks.
Marty's GM is located at 5415 Beacon Drive, Suite 145. It is open from 3 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Two new restaurants coming to DIA
A pair of new restaurants will soon be opening at Denver International Airport.
First, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh said it will open a location at DIA's Terminal B in the Center Food Court later this year.

Online dating app Coffee Meets Bagel has raised $12 million in funding from a United Kingdom-based venture capital firm and a group of women investors.
The round was led by new investor Atami Capital. Other backers include GingerBread Capital, led by Linnea Roberts; Shannon Gran;, Kheng Lian Ho and Helen Schwab, as well as return investors DCM Ventures, Wi Harper and Quest Venture Partners, per a company news release.

Checkerspot Brewing Co. sets an opening date near M&T Bank Stadium after months of delays
Construction is in full swing at Checkerspot Brewing Co.'s future home in South Baltimore, and the brewery expects to finally open its doors at the end of next month.
After months of delays, Checkerspot will host a grand opening on June 30 at noon, co-owner Judy Neff said.
Neff, her husband Rob Neff and friend Steve Marsh announced plans for the brewery at 175 W. Ostend St. in early 2017 and had hoped to open by the start of football season last fall, but construction delays pushed back the launch.
