SEC may allow more public access into private company investment, chairman says
The Securities and Exchange Commission may expand the general public's access to investment opportunities in private companies, the SEC chairman said.
The Wall Street Journal reported that SEC Chairman Jay Clayton wants to make it easier for individuals to invest in private companies.
Right now, many investors can't access investment opportunities into private companies because of current stringent financial requirements required for investors in private companies.

BlackRock wanted Musk out as Tesla chairman
A big shareholder in Tesla Inc. wanted CEO Elon Musk out of his role as chairman.
At the June meeting of Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA) shareholders, funds managed by BlackRock wanted to separate Musk from his role as chairman. Musk would have remained CEO of the company and an independent chairman would have been named.
But according to Reuters, the move failed, with more than 86 million shares voting against the proposal and less than than 17 million voting in favor of the proposal.

Owner of Hawaii solar firm Sunetric faces once again delisting from Nasdaq
Real Goods Solar Inc., the Colorado-based owner of Hawaii solar provider Sunetric, has received yet another warning from the Nasdaq Stock Market that it could be delisted after its stock price closed below the minimum threshold of $1 per share for 30 consecutive business days.
