Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative brings ‘second acts’ to the stage


After a career of 30-plus years in human resources at Procter & Gamble, Bertha Davis retired, or “graduated,” as she prefers to say, and was ready for her next act. As a young teen, she had seen the musical “Dreamgirls,” and since then had harbored hopes of writing stories. The demands of career and family caused her to put the writing dream aside, but with retirement in her mid-50s and the children grown, it was time to return to it.
