City ditches South Austin homeless shelter, looks to buy hotels instead


The city of Austin will no longer turn an office building on Ben White Boulevard into a homeless shelter, an idea that had home some neighbors up in arms. Instead, it's looking at buying hotels to house the homeless and provide them with support services.
