Hawaii counties ask Supreme Court to invalidate prop tax ballot question


Hawaii’s four counties on Wednesday filed a petition for extraordinary writ with the state Supreme Court, asking justices to invalidate a question on the November ballot for a proposed constitutional amendment allowing the Legislature to place a “surcharge” on investment real estate to support public schools.
