Citigroup Inc. is inching closer to joining the $2 trillion asset club occupied by the nation’s two largest banks.
The latest ranking of the country’s 50 largest banks and thrifts released Dec. 10 by S&P Global shows New York City-based Citigroup (NYSE: C) had $1.92 trillion in total assets at the end of the third quarter at No. 3 overall.
