Kansas City starts accepting short-term home rental applications


Kansas City is accepting applications from those who want to use their properties as short-term rentals on sites like Airbnb.

The move is part of the city's ongoing efforts to regulate AirBnb and other home-sharing businesses. In February, the City Council voted after three years of debate to create an ordinance that regulates how and when home-sharing can be offered at a residence.

The city has set up a webpage to explain the permit process, the ordinance itself and who needs to apply for permits.…
