Information was gathered from the Green Building Information Gateway. The LEED rating system offers four certification levels for new construction – platinum, gold, silver and certified – that corresponds to the number of credits accrued in five green design categories: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources and indoor environmental quality. The top certification level is platinum, followed by gold, silver and certified.
