A local bourbon distillery came home from the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition with the top honors in five categories during its first showing in the contest.
Newport's New Riff Distilling, at 24 Distillery Way, earned double gold medals in give categories in San Francisco, at the event which bills itself as the world's most respected whiskey competition. Double gold is awarded when every judge in a category votes to give the gold medal to the same entrant.
