Longtime Montrose cafe known for brunch suffers fire, aims to reopen in 2019


Baba Yega Cafe, which occupies a converted bungalow in Montrose, suffered a fire the night of Dec. 7.

The restaurant, at 2607 Grant St., is closed for the time being, but the owners plan to reopen sometime in 2019, according to a statement from the company.

Per the statement, the fire broke out around 9 p.m. and is believed to have started near the front entrance. Media reports show flames coming from the roof.
