Realtor-turned-developer Kurt Albers has a plan to build more affordable housing for purchase in Loveland.
The new neighborhood, currently in the pre-planning stage, is proposed to contain 90 units, composed of 500-square-foot micro homes and 800-square-foot cottages, Albers said Tuesday. The neighborhood, which he plans to call The Meadows, is proposed to include three green belts, a small grocery store, a clubhouse, a dog park and a community garden.
The micro-homes will be ranch-style, with one bedroom, one bath and a loft. The cottages will be two-story with one main floor bedroom, two upstairs bedrooms and two baths.
All are proposed to be on a 10-acre piece of land at 460 S. Boise Ave., south of First Street, though Albers said he is still looking at other sites.
The micro homes would be in the neighborhood of $150,000 to buy, and the cottages in the range of $200,000 to $225,000, Albers said. They will each have gingerbread finishes, 6-foot front porches and a rear driveway off an alley.
