Menopause symptoms cost businesses billions in lost work, Mayo Clinic study finds


A new study published by the Mayo Clinic estimates that menopause-related symptoms cost $1.8 billion in lost work time in the United States alone, and $28 billion when medical expenses are added.

Menopause symptoms including hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, sleep disturbances, joint aches and cognitive difficulties can significantly adversely impact work outcomes including absenteeism, productivity, direct and indirect medical costs and opportunities for career advancement, the study found.…
