Missouri voters pass Amendment 3 legalizing recreational marijuana


Missouri is now the 20th state in the union to approve recreational marijuana use, The Associated Press projects.

On Tuesday, voters passed Amendment 3, which alters the state constitution to remove all prohibitions on marijuana for adults age 21 and older.

With about 70% of votes counted in Jackson County, the area's largest county voted in favor of legalization by a two-to-one margin.
