The 2023 list of the top mortgage producers in the Austin area ranks the area's most active residential loan officers according to their home loan production in 2022. The list includes loans for local properties as well as nonlocal. All loans must be originated and closed under the agent's NMLS ID number. This year tracking 2022, combined production of loans for the top 50 listmakers reached $3.76 billion for 7,410 loans closed inside and outside the Austin market. Of that, the Austin area accounted for 6,014 of the loans which generated $3.17 billion. This is a sizable drop from 2021 totals reported by listmakers who closed 13,103 loans totaling $5.56 billion during that time. Locally, there were 10,599 loans closed bringing in $4.8 billion. All loan officers listed operate from the Austin area and provided verification of loans made. Some loan officers have licensed assistants that help process paperwork and communicate with clients. Only retail home loans and refinancings are tracked. Repurchase, home equity, cash-outs, second liens and wholesale loans not included. The Austin coverage area includes Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell and Burnet counties. ABJ gathers list information by sending surveys to company representatives in August each year.
