Mylan and Upjohn announce name of combined company


The new company that will be created when Mylan and Upjohn combine has a name.

On Tuesday, Mylan and Pfizer (of which Upjohn is a division of) announced that the new company will be called Viatris.

According to a release, the name is derived from Latin and means, roughly, "a path to three." The name is supposed to embody the new company's goal of providing a path to three core goals: expanding access to medicines, leading by innovating to meet patient need and being a trusted partner for the healthcare…
