New historic preservation plan taking shape in Austin


A formal unveiling of the plan is expected in September. Any change to Austin's historic preservation guidelines will obviously impact business, from real estate developers looking to replace old structures to architecture firms that deal in restoration. Recent business issues to come before the Historic Landmark Commission include plans to transform Sixth Street and a redevelopment proposal for the gay nightlife district on Fourth Street.
