Carl DiCapo, whose rise on the Kansas City restaurant scene led to a second career as a civic giant, died at age 95.
DiCapo took a job as a cashier at Italian Gardens Restaurant in the early 1950s when his brother-in-law needed help. From there, he rose to help make the restaurant a mainstay of downtown Kansa City, both as a place to eat and to meet others.
