Regional campaign to prevent suicide in construction industry gains national traction


In spring of 2019, a construction worker died by suicide on a high-profile project in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The incident prompted safety professionals from The Builders, a chapter of the AGC (then called The Builders’ Association), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and area contractors to create a task force dedicated to reducing the rate of suicide in the industry, which has the second-highest rate of any industry.
