Winston-Salem-based BB&T says it laid off an unspecified number of employees in Wilson in recent weeks, according to a report in The Wilson Times.
Officials with the bank, founded in Wilson in 1872, confirmed the layoffs to the newspaper, but declined to provide the number of employees impacted.
