Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a pair of Schlitterbahn water parks, including the original Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels about 50 miles south of Austin, from the long-time owners, the Henry family.
The Sandusky, Ohio-based company will pay $261 million for Waterpark and Resort New Braunfels and Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston. It has also bought the right to potentially acquire Schlitterbahn’s Kansas City water park for an additional $6 million.
