Inspire Brands Inc. is picking up another fast-food chain: Sonic Corp.
The Atlanta-based restaurant group, which already owns Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings and Rusty Taco, will pay approximately $2.3 billion for Sonic, a 65-year-old chain known for its drive-in format and customizable menu including burgers, hot dogs and a plethora of drinks.
The deal, expected to close later this year, includes more than 3,500 Sonic locations and 300 franchisees, representing $4.4 billion in system sales.
