Stop & Shop union says it has an agreement to end strike


The union representing the 31,000 Stop & Shop workers who have been on strike since April 11 has reached a tentative contract agreement with the grocery chain's parent company.

The United Food and Commercial Workers said in a statement Sunday evening that the agreement, which still must be voted on by union members, “preserves health care and retirement benefits, provides wage increases, and maintains time-and-a-half pay on Sunday for current members.”
