UC Davis opens $2.1 million veterinary emergency room/ICU


The newest project in the University of California Davis Veterinary Medical Center’s $500 million, yearslong renovation is now open.

On Wednesday, the university celebrated the grand opening of its new emergency room and intensive care unit on its Davis campus.

At 1,611 square feet, the new space nearly doubles the square footage of the old ER and ICU. Since the old facility was built in 1970, and especially over the last decade, the number of cats and dogs who need emergency care has skyrocketed.…
