UPMC responds to attorney general over consent decree


UPMC is telling the Pennsylvania Supreme Court that the UPMC-Highmark consent decree was always supposed to have an end — and that the court knew that last year when it affirmed its June 30, 2018, ending.

The Pittsburgh-based health system on Wednesday made a 67-page filing ahead of the May 16 oral arguments in Harrisburg over the ending of consent decree. Attorney General Josh Shapiro is asking the high court to allow the consent decree to be extended.
