$1.3B Winthrop Square tower gets city approval


The Boston Planning and Development Agency on Thursday unanimously approved Millennium Partners’ $1.3 billion Winthrop Square proposal, putting the city’s stamp of approval on a project that sparked protracted debate around shadows, height and architectural design.

At the start of Thursday’s public hearing, Millennium Partners Principal Joe Larkin announced he was “humbled” by the development-review process, calling it “a happy struggle.”
