2 Italian restaurants in Cary, Raleigh file for bankruptcy protection


The companies behind Cary’s Stellino’s Italiano and Raleigh’s Bella Monica have filed for bankruptcy protection in federal court.

Both restaurants will stay open for business, according to a statement from Corbett Monica, restaurateur and executive chef for both entities.

Monica stated the move was about restructuring debt associated with Stellino's location. "These restaurants are thriving and will continue to operate and serve our loyal customers each day," he said.
