43-acre development in Delaware County headed for referendum


Voters this fall will decide the fate of a controversial development in Genoa Township.

The Delaware County Board of Elections has certified more than 1,400 signatures for a referendum on 43 acres of farmland that a real estate broker wants to develop into housing.

Benton Benalcazar wants to build a 64-home single-family development, The Ravines at Hoover, just southwest of the corner of Oxbow and Tussic Street roads.

Romanelli and Hughes would build the homes in the $500,000 to $700,000 range.…
