The sudden closure of The New England Confectionary Co. in Revere has sparked a lawsuit against the candymaker’s owners.
Round Hill Investments, which acquired NECCO for $17.8 million at a bankruptcy auction in May, closed the Revere plant last week and sold the firm to another company. Two former NECCO workers filed a class action lawsuit against Round Hill in Massachusetts federal court on Friday, alleging that it failed to warn employees ahead of time that they would be laid off.
