Foreclosures drop to 13-year low


Property foreclosures in the U.S. fell to a 13-year low in 2018, although Georgia remains among the nation’s leaders, according to a report unveiled today.

Foreclosure filings — default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions — were reported on 624,753 U.S. properties in 2018, down 8 percent from 2017 to the lowest level since 2005. The data comes from Attom Data Solutions, a California-based company.
