Payless ShoeSource plans to shutter all 2,300 stores; Hawaii has 8


Kansas-based Payless ShoeSource Inc. intends to file for bankruptcy later this month and shut all of its approximately 2,300 retail locations, including eight stores in Hawaii.

It’s the second time the company has filed for bankruptcy in two years, Reuters reports. The company has six stores on Oahu, one on Maui at the Queen Kaahumanu Center in Kahului and one on the Big Island at Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo.
