Boston Medical Center receives $90M in federal funds to fight opioid epidemic


Boston Medical Center has received nearly $90 million in federal funding to substantially reduce opioid-related deaths in Massachusetts communities. The hospital is one of four institutions selected to address the nation’s opioid epidemic through the funding.

The Boston hospital received $89 million to support an effort under a cooperative agreement backed by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, which aims to reduce opioid overdose deaths by 40 percent over the three years.
