Researchers at the University of California Davis developed five new varieties of strawberry plants that will help growers save labor costs and produce more berries with fewer resources.
The UC Davis Public Strawberry Breeding Program’s new varieties, called Moxie, Royal Royce, Valiant, Victor and Warrior, will be publicly available at nurseries starting this fall. Glenn Cole, strawberry breeder with the program, said that each variety is designed to fit a certain region, season and issue.
