Stifel lands four high-profile Merrill brokers, unveils plan for new branch


Stifel Financial Corp. on Friday said it hired four brokers from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management that, according to a trade publication, collectively manage $965 million in client assets.

Stifel CEO Ron Kruszewski confirmed the hiring of Richard Murphy Jr., Kevyn Schroeder, Gene Carter and Peter Flanigan.

Kruszewski also confirmed that Murphy will lead a new Stifel branch to be located in Frontenac as part of the $80 million redevelopment of the old Shriners Hospital for Children, a project…
