Medical device founder hopes to make the spinal tap procedure safer and better


The first time Jessica Traver Ingram witnessed a spinal tap procedure, it sent a chill down her own spine.

Traditionally, the person performing a spinal tap feels along the patient's spine with their fingertips to determine where to put the needle to extract fluid or inject drugs, Ingram said. There was no image guidance.

Ingram knew there had to be a better way.
