After a long ad agency career, Mike Hensley turned to making art


Art was always Mike Hensley’s passion. As a student at Aiken High School in the ‘70s, his goal was to become a visual artist. Then reality set in.

“I realized that maybe I would be a starving artist,” Hensley said. He shifted his plans. After high school enrolled in a two-year commercial art school, preparing to work in graphic design or a similar profession that offered a living wage.
