Aldi debuts new store model in Baltimore (Photos)


Aldi introduced new "On the Go" food, wider aisles and discount meat and fish to its newly renovated location in East Baltimore — and shoppers are already responding.

The grocery chain is investing $18 million to update 13 Baltimore-area stores, said Division Vice President Jeff Baehr. The store on East Fayette Street is the third to be remodeled after stores in Elkton and Essex. The renovation is part of a $1.9 billion national push to renovate 1,300 Aldi stores by the end of 2020.
