Amazon says other tech hubs will absorb jobs from canceled HQ2 plans in NYC


Amazon.com Inc. has canceled plans to build a second headquarters in New York City. Instead, the 25,000 jobs that it had promised to add via an 8 million-square-foot campus in the city's Queens borough will instead be spread across other major tech hubs where it already has a presence, the Seattle-based giant said Thursday.

Amazon said Thursday that it had cancelled plans for a sprawling campus in Long Island City, Queens, and would not reopen a search for a new location for the HQ2 campus.
