App helping patients follow doc’s fitness orders raises $1M


A Franklinton startup building a network of physicians and fitness centers so patients follow through on exercise goals has raised a cumulative $1 million and hit six-figure revenue in its first full year.

Prescribe Fit LLC this month closed a $900,000 seed round by Donatos Pizza founder Jim Grote; Brett Kaufman, founder and CEO of Kaufman Development; Annie Upper, founder of Amethyst women's recovery program; and an unnamed startup founder. The business had raised $150,000 during an earlier round.
